After a difficult and challenging winter, we've gotten off to a great start for the summer. Jonathan graduated and then was picked to travel to Kansas City to compete in videography, and no one sought to waste money on the iPhone!
We had a wonderful visit with Beth on Friday (just prior to getting Solo on Saturday. Kevin's house is our dream house, and the grandchildren are terrific. Sean and Christina had a great time, and Heather was so pleased to finally have met Beth and Bob, of whom she has heard much over the past 3 years.
I continue with my New Year's Resolution to play guitar every day: Day #180 today. 2 days I was pretty sick and barely made 10 minutes of practice, but...it still counts! I am learning acoustic blues and fingerstyle guitar and loving it. After 6 months of DVD lessons, I can finally feel the improvement...I have played since I was 13, but waited until age 45 to actually learn something! I only wish I had started younger.
Heather is walking every night; mostly with Sarah. They love each other and spend a lot of time together. Sometimes, they even let me come with them, though now Heatherwalks little Michaleen, her true love.
Pete, Joseph, Jonathan and Sarah are all racking up hours at their jobs, hoping to have a good summer of savings before back to school, where Sarah will be a senior, and Jonathan a freshman. Sean and Christina are in swimming lessons and cannot wait to get down to Grampie Bob's pool and show off all their new found swimming talent!
Father's Day was wonderful, with my 4 oldest suprising me with a huge grill (that Jonathan and Heather put together!). I must repay their kindness with many barbeques, though Joseph is fast developing a talent that threatens my supremecy as master griller of the Hyatts! Stay tuned...

We had a nice time too. Katie and Seann were looking for Christina and Sean when they came over the other day. Katie thought you lived in the 'hood. Time went by much too quickly and we must get together again soon.
