"We Hope Its Not Our Daughter" Billie Dunn's Attorney

Stunning use of pronouns.

"We're a mother who would like to have our daughter back.  We'd like to have our daughter back and some closure to this difficult period in our life."

Was it a challenge for the interviewer not to ask, "who is 'we' you are referring to?"  Is Billie the mother, or you and Billie?

"She does not live with Shawn Adkins.  She has had a relationship. "

"Any long term relationship is difficult to break the bonds."

The attorney is tipping his hand:  "if it is, Billie will will will be cooperating so he can be prosecuted to the full extent of the law."

Expect Billie Dunn to turn on Adkins, if the attorney has his way.

"will will will" be cooperating? Gee I thought she already WAS cooperating from day one? Oh but that's right, she didn't have the "WE and OUR" lawyer.

Honestly, that interview was making me feel enraged. Why is this creep still practicing? Did they drop his charges for assaulting a police officer? Pointing a gun in the officer's face? drunk and disorderly ?

If Billie is with Shawn it is because she chose to be. Her choice.
I never had a problem leaving a relationship when it became toxic.
I think Shawn is about to be thrown under the bus. I hope she is arrested right along with him.

Is John Young Hailey's Father?

This is his idea of helping his client?

Here comes the bus Shawn!!!

This was not a very smart move on the part of John Young. I'm sure that SA and his attorney are aware of the fact that the threat is out there that BJD will, will, will "cooperate". at least of John Young has his way (and I think he will).

That said, wonder what strategy SA's attorney will work up to place at least a portion of the blame back into BJD's lap?

I'm sure SA's attorney expected this, but John Young took the guesswork out of the equation by opening his big mouth.

Her lawyer is helping her. Right off a cliff. How sad. Not.

yeah, she's going to see SA prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Just a few weeks okay she was defending why she's still with him, saying he's the only one standing by her, yada, yada, yada.

I hope that Shawn's attorney is ready to give as good as they get from the drunk, gun waving attorney and they both go down - HARD!

I'm unfamiliar with earlier details from this case.

Was it alleged that Hailey had suffered any type of abuse in her mothers home prior to her disappearance ?

Aside from thei "interests" (which are concerning enough), were there concrete indications that hailey's mother and SA a danger to Hailey?

By the way, I believe they are responsible and I'm relievedfor her case that her remains appeared to have been found.

Jan from Texas said...

We just have to pray, and pray HARD that JUSTICE is served, to the fullest extent of the law, for Hailey.

BJD is as culpable as SA. And I hope and pray that when this all shakes out, the truth, and ALL the truth, will be revealed.

I knew it would only be a matter of time before they turned on each other...but I was honestly resigned to the fact that Hailey might never be found and it could be 20 years before that happened.

Just like Morgan Harrington and Caylee Anthony...somehow...someone walked in an area that they were never supposed to and they were miraculously found.

I really feel like this aggressive CHANGE of alliance from Billie Dunn speaks volumes as to her involvement.

PROTECT SA...when people are accusing them because he knows the TRUTH and she doesn't want him to turn on her.

ACCUSE SA...when Hailey's body is found and she knows full well where that evidence is going to lead.

I do hope that TEXAS does a better job with these two then FLORIDA did with the world's most hated child killer.

No concerte evidence of abuse such as bruises etc. but numerous stories of neglect. Hailey had to ask several people at school to borrow money for lunch because her parents didn't give her any, Hailey complained to her father's mother about SA standing outside her door at night and slept on the living room couch more than once possibly because of her fear of him (i think Billie explained it away that Hailey preferred to sleep on the couch - yeah right, a 13-year-old sleeping on a couch insted of her bed), both parents are drug users as well as extended family on both sides, SA admitted he threatened not only Billie Dunn but Hailey as well. Those are just the ones off the top of my head.

I feel so sad for Hailey because by all accounts she was doing her best to rise above her circumstances and make something out of herself and the poor baby never had a chance because those who should have watched out and cared for her were too wrapped up in themselves and what they wanted.

As Peter has said repeatedly children and drugs do not mix.

I bet the "treasure trove" within that bag links both BJD and SA to the murder.

That "treasure trove" will throw BJD and SA under the bus!

We we we....I notice he didn't say "we" had a relationship with Shawn Adkins....Is he drunk now? How dare this dirtbag (I know, name calling is tacky) defend this woman....
She was in pain staying where, if her daughter were alive, she would come? Does she think the rest of us were as stoned as she was for the past year?

Anonymous said...

I just wateched the interview and Bleech. Whoever upthread asked if John Young was Hailey's father was right on. He's speaking like he's in a relationship with her, not her attorney.

As for why Billie left the area shortly after because it was too hard - tell that to Morgan Nick's mother. Her daughter was kidnapped almost 20 years ago and she still lives in the same house because of the slight possibility that her daugther may come back. Other parentw who believe that their children were kidnapped as Billie has said for the last year, refuse to leave the home where the child was living. Look at Kyron's mother - she won't even make his bed months later.

Beep Beep Billie and Shawn. That's the bus heading your way.

I wonder if he was on something when he did this interview.

I couldn't bring myself to post his statements throughout; it was so strange.

Is this the start of the fall of the duo!!!!! Looks like there already Turing on each other. Or the lawyers are!!! It really makes me wonder what else they know!!! Then the judge said the skull look small. Hair looked a Lil dark!!!!

Trigger said...

Cooperating? What is Billie Dunn's internal dictionary definition of that?

She is going to save her own butt and turn on Shawn is what I perceive.

I hope Shawn adjusts to prison life without all his "hobbies" to keep him amused.

Anonymous said...

Big Country has an interview with Hailey's grandmother on it's website (sorry I can't provide a link, I'm technically challenged). But in it she says that both Hailey and David hated Shawn Atkins. She said that Hailey felt like she was pushed aside once Shawn and Clint's girlfriend got into the picture - both adults were putting their needs/wants before their kids. She also reiterates that she feels that Shawn did it.

Trigger said...

"We hope it's not our daughter."

Does this mean that Billie has dumped Shawn and has begun an intimate relationship with Mr. Young?

Is this her new stud?

Don't they trian these looney attorneys- in psychology #101 and simple communication skills. Our human nature is such that we are looking for sincerity- and that there is a "smell" test that substanciates-or NOT- it. I don't think ONE human bean- didn't almost throw up with the attorney insinuated himself into the ownership (biology?)of that murdered child.

Yes, and tell it to Hazel Smith, who is still living in the same house she was living in when in 1980 - nearly 32 years ago - when in 1980, on the day after Christmas (just like Hailey), her daughter Peaches was abducted , raped, murdered, and disposed of, the burial site discovered more than a year after her disappearance (just like Hailey).

Tell that to Hazel Smith, a mother who has for the last 32 years walked the same routes her daughter took while walking through the community, who has walked to and from the same store from which her daughter was last seen, who has remained in the same house after all these years.

You know, Peter, I do believe that he is alot like his client. Not just the substance abuse, but the "we" and "our" is very attention seeking behavior, IMO. I would love to know what he means by cooperating with le...pretty sure our definitions differ.

Suzanne said...

The ONLY time this chucklehead stops stuttering is when he speaks about prosecuting Shawn "if" he's responsible for Hailey's death or disappearance. The rest of the time when speaking on his client's behalf, he is all "uh, uh, uh.." Very telling if you ask me.

How awful.

I think this attorney is suffering from delusions, he seems to think he's the queen of England.

justmoo said...

It disgusts me to reflect on her doing this, as I mentioned in another post to a different article on here. Like Peter, I am certain that Billie Jean Dean will turn on Shawn and she will play the grieving mother card, claiming she kept Shawn close so she could learn the truth of Hailey's death and where her body was. She will make herself out to be a martyr...or die trying.

could Billie Jean Dunn perhaps be using 'we' and 'our' because she isn't owning the sentiment?

Bahahahaha!! I laughed so hard when I heard the way that man was speaking!! He must have had a little too much to drink again. The 1st thing that popped in my mind was, "Do you have a mouse in your pocket?" The last I had heard, Clint Dunn is her daddy!! What a joke! Nice to know that BJ has this clown as an attorney, so we know that there really will be no defense!

justmoo said...

I incorrectly posted this under the latest Baby Ayla thread, my apologies, it was intended for this thread:
A link of interest, perhaps?
Here is a link that gives one of the better descriptions of body decomposition after death. It gave me some bolstered hopes that regardless of what Billie Jean's New Lover will try to claim (soon to be Formerly Known As Atty. Young aka Inmate No. MakesBadDecisions).

I've read numerous different explanations about body decomp and how to tell how long a body has one, been dead and two, how long it has been in the place where it was recovered. This site was fairly thorough while still being interesting and discernable.

That blanket used to collect evidence may prove worth its weight millions of fold over. Amazing what science can now tell us.

Also, OT, but I didnt realize 'bloat science' was still so new. I would have guessed an earlier time frame for soil and bug analysis to tell what this article states were technologies dated after the 1980's. That does explain why the science of death and etemology was seen as so edgy and on the foray "Silence of the Lambs" circa 1991.

Jeanie said...

yeah. I bet they hope it isn't 'their' daughter...but if it is, then they know it is...Billie Dunn must be thinking hard and fast. I wonder what/if anything Shawn Adkins 'thinks'

What does his pronoun use of the word "we" here means in terms of statement analysis, especially in light of the article you just wrote about it statement that pronouns were universal and instinctive? I am from the Appalachian area and people use "we" when they should say "I" all the time. I did it forever until I broke myself from doing it. Especially preachers. I've heard them say from the pulpit, "We went to see Bro. John in the hospital" when really on the pastor physically went. Is there something to this? I really would like to understand because it has always bothered me.

Anonymous said...

I meant to type stating that pronouns were universal.

This isn't the first time Cockroach Young has used the terminology "we" "our" and so on. Why be so surprised? He did it the first time he spoke publically in defense of BJD.

It's his way of speaking for his low-life client. It's nothing new. Lots of suck up cockroaches do this. They think it is enduring to include themselves as a 'part of' and place themselves in front of the firing line.

As for Young still practicing law and not having been disbarred, he obviously has friends in high places just like Cockroach Baez (& especiallly Cheney) and Not-So-Honorable Judge Perry has; another one who needs to be disbarred. They belong to the 'good ole boys' network. Nothing new there either.

Not to hand him any roses; but IMO Shawn will be the first one to tell the truth about BJD's participation in Hailey's gruesome death and BJD will lie through her teeth to the end. Some will hang on believing her but I never will.

Shawn already said earlier on "you need to look at both of us." Billie is in it up to her eyeballs and Shawn can spell it out. I think he will. IMO, as sickening a creature as he is; he'll talk first and I'd believe him any day ahead of BJD. Just MOO. Anon 101

Anon #4:20, I don't find it so unusual that your pastor spoke in terms of "we" when he went on visitation but he was the only one there. Pastors and deacons do this all the time when they are representing the board or the church as a whole.

I did it too when I was on the board of a mission and went to represent us to others. Brokers and corporation board members also do this. To refer to us as "we" is no biggie. Anon 101.

Anonymous said...

I meant to conclude by saying that when "we" or "our" is used in terms of being all inclusive as to speaking for others, it is acceptable in these instances and in ownership/business practices; but that may not be the case in statement analysis where it is being used to deceive. Anon 101

Anonymous said...

That makes a lot if sense. We when speaking for a group makes sense.
